Trump accused of raw blatant obstruction by ex-US attorney for pressing acting AG to interfere with SDNY investigation
President Donald Trump likely committed a federal crime by complaining to acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker about investigations by the Southern District of New York.
Former federal prosecutor Mimi Rocah, a former assistant U.S. Attorney in that district, joined MSNBCs Live with Alex Witt to analyze the latest developments.
Theres new reporting the president has lashed out at Mark Whitaker at least twice in the past few weeks, both times over revelations surrounding his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, Witt reported.
I am curious about your reaction to this, because even if the president is not directing Whitaker, isnt there still a level of influence that he is trying to put on the investigation? Witt asked. And could that not be considered obstruction?
