The AMAZING Sherrod Brown is the ONLY US Senator from a Republican-leaning state

among the top 38 most progressive Senators.

The only one.

Progressive Punch scores him as the 8th most progressive among all Senators -- despite being the only one to come from a Republican leaning state.

It's easy enough to push progressive positions when the voters in your state are mostly Democrats. What is Sherrod Brown's SECRET for being able to support such a progressive agenda despite coming from Kasich-led Ohio?

It must be a secret since no other progressive Senator has seemed to figure it out. Every other Senator in the top dozen progressives comes from a Strongly Democratic State. The only competitor to Brown is, at #13, from a "Swing" state, Senator Tammy Baldwin.

we don't need Ohio anymore in presidential elections.....CO, NV, VA are practically blue states now....Democrats DO need to win MI, & PA....And Florida is always its 50.5% - 49.5% in elections so that state remains a top target....

Which should show Democrats that many states will listen to a progressive message.

The fact that a majority of GOP voters support Medicare for All should be another indicator that progressive policies are popular.

And that the party needs to be open to more moderate Dems in republican leaning areas. We have to remain a big tent party to maintain a majority.

Helping the middle and working classes aren't just talking points to him. He really fights for them and they know it. He is articulate, honest, decent, capable and would make a formidable Presiential candidate.

It wins votes.

I am extremely fearful of the number of Dems contemplating running. Too many voices diluting any one message, with Trump a singular drumbeat in counterpoint. Despite that fear, I hope Sherrod runs -- Of all the people contemplating a run, I think he has the best shot.

I even think if he runs, Bernie will not. Brown is much more certain to win in the general election than Biden. This is because Trump cannot effectively campaign against Brown without alienating some of his base. There is a reason why even Bannon named Sharrod
Brown is the only democrat he likes (it was a while ago). Sharrod will consolidate both bernie and clinton voters and will attract most independent voters and many from trump’s base, especially in midwest states and those who had previously voted for Obama. If he runs, I don’t even need to think about, I’ll vote for him in the primary over anyone else because it would give me a piece of mind that we win in 2020 and becauese of the enthusiasm that he would bring - record turnout will help us flip the senate and local and state seats. So I very much hope he runs. I’ll be rooting for him the moment he announces it.

It should be noted that Brown's elections were during blue wave years: 2006, 2012, 2018. Trump targeted him this year.
