It was a solid steel rod that weighed 38 pounds. Sent ground it was about $100 and worth every penny. Spouse can weld - it had not-nice words on it for Shrub, and we paid for certified delivery.

We did get a delivery receipt, took it to the main Postal Service office here so as not to burden our carrier.

It was a blast when we got the receipt!
