Trump's Reckoning Is Underway

Trump’s Reckoning Is Underway

"SNIP....

Eugene Robinson: “Anyone who thinks Trump is a master politician is wrong. He’s a master illusionist, which isn’t the same thing. Politicians can’t keep pulling rabbits out of empty hats forever. At some point, they face a reckoning, and Trump’s is well underway.”

“Trump is talented at making it appear that he has more than he really does — more money, more respect, more support. All those campaign rallies before the midterm elections were not just an attempt to save the Republican majorities in Congress or feed Trump’s insatiable ego. They were also demonstrations of the fervor of his core supporters — and implied warnings to Republicans who might cross him.”

2. Master illusionist? I must disagree.

A master illusionist is someone who can fool even the most educated and hardened of skeptics. Trump is your garden variety conniving salesman that preys on the the feeble minded and the emotionally weak, but strikes out everywhere else. There happen to be a lot of those types of people in America which is why he is as popular as he is (which is to say, not that popular overall), but he is a master of nothing. He's an empty suit, an empty head, an empty soul, and and empty pocket propped up by Russian and mob money.

He is a master of nothing.

he did it with the help of a foreign adversary. They swayed the election. That is not a fair, democratic election.

Take Jill Stein votes and give them to Hillary in WI, MI, and PA and she wins the Presidency.

Via crosscheck. If that hadn't happened, Hillary would be president.

A couple billion bucks worth of free air time that other candidates didn't get can reach a lot of deplorables.

... then what's coming would be easier.

But I think he's quite good at what he does, & many of his people (deplorable or otherwise) are pretty hard headed but still fooled.

Take Scott Adams for example. Could you be more cynical? He even understands the trickery and hypnotism that Mr Trump does. And yet ....

It's easier once the spell is broken. But even that's no guarantee, as Adams shows.

They'd rather retire to spend time with their family or whatever nonsense than step out of line and risk being primaried.

The rest only say how they really feel "privately", as cowards do.

9. What's the difference between revenge and "a reckoning?"

Every definition I can come up with defines "a reckoning," no matter how it's phrased, as revenge.

I instinctively understand there's a difference. But I can't find the words to define that difference.

Like all narcissists, he is supremely self-delusional. I don't know about a reckoning, but karma's a bitch, and he's due for 72 years worth now. With any luck he'll have a similar fate to the guy that murdered that lion and then managed to fall off a cliff to his death two years later.
