Angelina Jolie was asked and she responded it's not out the question..... She is an anti-trump celebrity!

(58,465 posts)I'd think looking for leadership from a celebrity would be the last thing we'd be considering.

[This was before the 2016 election. De Niro went on to accurately diagnose and predict:]
The Republican party has rationalised that this guy is sane, that this guy should be president, he said. Its awful, they will self-destruct.
De Niro urged Americans to vote on 8 November in order to prevent Trump from winning.
They have to vote, they must vote, its imperative that you vote, its a very serious situation, he said.
Everybody has to be vigilant to make sure that this guy does not become president. Lets not win by a margin, lets make sure hes crushed
because he represents so many horrible things.
Deniros the man!!

(7,577 posts)Took a tremendous book and unbelievable personal story and turned them into a meh movie. Just being a famous actor does not make one qualified to do other things.

(5,914 posts)He was also more-or-less mentored into politics by his buddy Paul Wellstone.
So he was fairly knowledgeable going into the job.
I, too, hope he makes a comeback. He's great.

(1,652 posts)She considered voting for McCain over Obama, but said she would wait to hear about Obama's stance on refugees, then decided to back Obama. Did she think any Republican would have a better policy on refugees than Obama would? Just that she even considered voting for McCain entirely rules her out for me.

(33,960 posts)She is a progressive activist who has supported many progressive causes. She has worked extensively with refugees and was a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN.
She is a smart, beautiful progressive woman with some flaws but I wouldnt discount her out of the gate. She brings a lot to the table and just because her day job is in entertainment, doesnt mean she isnt worth listening to.

(54,774 posts)I wouldn't count her out as a player if she decides to go into politics. Any Republican wanting to debate her thinking she is just some dumb Hollywood personality is in for a nasty surprise.
