Damn right it will be a great year! Onward!

Not in the sense of bad things happening to me, but there's never been a year of my life where I've felt more consistently lousy than 2018. Depression did a real number on me for most of the goddamn year.

I hope this year is better. I hope.

Always running after the new, shiny thing. Soon as a year gets a few dents and dings and scratches, you just throw it away. Back in my day, we'd use 'em up, make a year last 14 or 16 months! Some thrifty folks would still be writing checks with the old year right through June.

Whoever started this crazy fashion of throwing a year away at the end of every December is just wasteful. Gonna ruin the planet.
