Trump: No Money for Wall, No Signature on Bill to Fund Government

House Democrats plan to vote on package later this week

President Donald Trump on Monday evening signaled he would not sign an omnibus spending package House Democrats plan to bring to the floor later this week because it omits dollars for his proposed southern border barrier.

“The Democrats will probably submit a Bill, being cute as always, which gives everything away but gives NOTHING to Border Security, namely the Wall. You see, without the Wall there can be no Border Security — the Tech “stuff” is just, by comparison, meaningless bells & whistles,” he tweeted.

The incoming House Democratic majority plans to vote on a package that would fully fund all other currently shuttered agencies for the remainder of the fiscal year and reopen the Department of Homeland Security until early February — but with no new dollars for a border barrier.

Trump on Monday evening equated border-sealing walls to the wheel, one of mankind’s most important inventions.

Trump would be sidelined.

I fear the GOP doesn't have the stomach for it though.

reason to give in to extortion when trump caused the problem in the first place. We can survive 1 or 2 months of a shutdown. Govt workers can survive as well as they can all apply for unemployment. When people talk about the "contractor" govt workforce, they are almost all W2 employees as well thru a staffing agencies and can and will receive unemployment too.

No golf until the government re-opens. Frankly, I think he's afraid to go anywhere because he gets protests wherever he goes and his rally #s are dwindling. His last few outings have been disasters and all over the news, even his own personal petting channel hasn't been all kissy lately.

So I think the kids need to stay put too. Indictments are coming right up and they should be on no-fly lists or something.

When the house passes a new CR with no wall money. If he does and it passes, I don't think 45 will veto. He will turn on McConnell for a while but that's about it.

Reps will pass a no-wall budget, but how many votes to get it thru Senate so they can override a tRump veto?
