All bowl games today on cable except for Citrus Bowl

Everything else is on ESPN. 🙁 For those of us without cable we are kind of out of luck. Yes, I know I can subscribe to stand alone ESPN, but not that big of a Buckeye fan.

Still it would be kind of nice to watch some of the festivities - tradition!!!

On the positive side, I will probably be much more productive doing something other than sitting on my backside, eating junk food, watching football.

In the end, it really is all about money.

I watch much less football than I used to, in part because many games on only on cable. Also because football is too violent, despite all the rule changes.

At a school like Notre Dame, that honors 4 year scholarships regardless of performance on the field (which MANY SEC teams do NOT), that grant is approximately $65,000 a year.

That is approximately the median income for the USA in 2017....$61,000+

Players in college do not need a paycheck from state universities that would pay them more than the professors and certainly more than staff at most colleges...the money from football and basketball is ridiculous and the coaches salaries are ludicrous too. But, making the athletes employees of the state is not a solution...

In Pittsburgh (where I live) every bar is a sports bar, just about.

Not sure how comfortable I would be there with my knitting. 😁 I really like to knit while I watch TV, especially sports. Keeps me from eating all that wonderful junk food.

... I'll bet the managers won't mind you bringing your knitting. Just order something small, even nonalcoholic, and they'll allow you to watch the game. It would be hard to do while sitting at a bar, but most places have tables and booths too.

The regular guys are doing the play-by-play. Wasn't sure if the bowl game would be on the local radio because of ESPN. But it is. Actually it is how I do most of the OSU football games - I can listen while doing other things around the house at the same time. Plus the guys doing the calling are very, vey good.

So it is OSU football on the radio while property stamping community band music and getting folders ready for our next concert. And maybe a glass of wine ....

Happy 2019 everyone!!

It's a little tough navigating around at first, but ALL the bowl games can be viewed at home. Hell, I even learned how to magically send the games to my "Smart" television.
