Should the new Congress expand the Mueller investigation ?

By creating a House Select Security Committee to get to the bottom of the Russian threat against our voting system and our national security?

Those presently leading the government should know that they cannot stonewall, obfuscate, or block the truth from the American people.

After Mueller gives his report, the investigation has not ended. It has only begun.

The Congress should make clear that if any crimes have been committed against our government, we will get to the bottom of it. No one is above the law.

It would be a creation of the Congress, and the Executive Branch would have no control.

The Committee would end its investigation whenever they thought the job was done, and not before.

Because Trump and Giuliani and the present bunch of scofflaws believe they can run out the clock on Mueller.

Get a few things that can be done; get them done. Try to avoid the laundry list of the dozens of prospective dem prez candidates. Soon enough trump disclosures from Mueller and the initial Dem committee investigations will compel some important works that Mueller and the AG's not seem to be working on.

...and that it could take years to ferret out all the connections. As someone posted yesterday, and Mueller is aware of it, that it is an international criminal operation.

One positive about a Commission, it does tend to get some of the politics out of it.

My timing reservation regards the need to lock up clearcut, serious felonies and get maximum public support to impeach trump - and get further support to fully investigate the trump gang.

There will be a very strong undertow to curtail, [and 'let the nation heal' ala Watergate], investigations as soon as possible, by corporate and republican interests.
