"SNIP.....
Yet most Republicans continue to fear taking on the President.
Mitt Romneys editorial is making the rounds for speaking the words that much of the GOP lacks the courage to put their names behind. Many of the voices rising to condemn him are secretly whispering, Mitt, it was great. I agree with you, but I have to defend him, you know. Ive got to worry about a primary
Wilson says.
Wilson envisions a strong role for Romney to play in Congress.
He has a chance to be a voice for the facts, for principles, and for personal integrity The coward caucus wont get the headlines, the media attention, and the political capital that flows from calling on Republicans to live up to their principles and for providing a living contrast to Trumps egregious, juvenile behavior. Romney just might.
.....SNIP"

(297,774 posts)Romney on "integrity".. we know him.
It's easy to have more "integrity" than trump.. and it is something that he's calling him out.. but we'll see if he's another Flake on trump or not.

(118,832 posts)of how Rick Wilson and others feel about Romney and his role in saving the GOP. I think a split GOP is well deserved after the last 40 years. I agree they are weaklings where Trump is concerned. I just posted it to inform. So we know what we are dealing with.

(118,832 posts)It is not politically correct. It is that they are afraid of Trump's hold on his base and their shared nationalism/tribalism. That is why the GOP remains silent.

(1,652 posts)that Repub voters used to justify voting for Trump. Was sarcasm (or rather, irony), but as it was written in dialogue. the tag might have been confusing... as I guess the post was... thanks for your reply (that isn't sarcasm).
