Dumpsterdive to see what freeperville says about the shutdown: (Names & links removed.)

Warning: There's not much in this post that is rational or reality-based.)

END THE SHUTDOWN: Gardner is Right, Go to Battle Plan B

What has suddenly changed that would prompt U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner to come forward, the first Republican to do so, and urge the end of the government shutdown?

The answer is simple — Democrats are now in charge of the U.S. House, and the Constitution requires all government spending must originate in the House.

Why should Democrats cut a deal, when they control the purse strings?

Nah! Break them!

Up yours Gardner!

worthless article

The purse strings need to be okayed by the Senate and signed by the President. No, I did not read the article. Pelosi is not the Queen.

We elected Donald Trump president not some unknown senator. I trust his judgment.

Another melting Republican. Why are the Democrats so much better at party discipline and the republicans endlessly earn the distrust or worse of their base?

Let the democrats leave it shut down for as long as they want. They have the power to reopen it anytime they want. One month, two, three, six—whatever it takes. The voters know the score. The dems are losers.

Why should President Trump cut a deal? He said he didn’t care that most of the furloughed workers were Democrats, but they are. He might not care, but after a month or two without paychecks, the Democrats will care. Meantime, Mitch and the gang in the Senate can get back to confirming judges.

The House’s job is to submit a budget that is acceptable to the Senate and President. Failure of the House to accomplish that task results in no approved budget to conduct government business.

nonsense. heres a new title for this article. .. Lets make Trump look like a fool.

actually, the so-called partial shut down is wonderful news and should be continued indefinitely

(any details can be worked out, but cutting the vast size of the Deep Swamp in WashDC is exactly what the country needs!)

A permanent shutdown of the government would be almost as good as the wall.

Wrong.

The Democrats control only 1/3 of the government, Trump has the executive office, and Republicans, albeit RINO’s, have the Senate. This is why I keep wondering why everybody thinks the Democrats running the show now, there are going to be some trades, but at the end of the day nothing house without Republican approval and Trump’s signature. I bet once Pelosii settles in or is replaced Trump will get quite a bit done, more than He did with Traitor Ryan.

Amen

Well worded... And both the burden and the blame is on them for not doing this.

Cory who?

While is is viscerally, variously interesting to see some of the spewings, I worry about getting soiled.

I'll always appreciate you intrepid soles [stet] that bring back sightings from the other-worlds.

Quick questions -

- How do they feed themselves? Are they all filthy rich or do they need hand-outs from uncle trump?
- Obviously none of them are on the dole
- But I bet a lot of them own multiple firearms and can shoot themselves in the foot
- or others elsewhere
- Glad they don't need any education past the 1st grade. Do they know how to pull out quick enough?

That’s one of the saddest things I’ve
read in a long time. These rubes actually still **trust*** 45? In objective reality, 45 has done NOTHING, except to divide the American people against one another; and attempt (repeatedly) to destroy American democracy and engage in shady (and likely illegal) practices.

How clueless and out of touch (or brainwashed) would one have to be to even think like that? Like 45 actually knows what he’s doing with anything that doesn’t have a remote control.

Republicans = death cult

Oh, really? So they don't mind when their SNAP is cut, or when they don't get their tax rebate checks?
