These memes have no purpose other than to divide. The Democrats, even as the media says we're in disarray, seems to me more unified than it has been in a while. If you saw Nancy Pelosi in the town hall meeting Friday night answering the question about "Impeach the Motherfucker" said about it everything EXCEPT condemn it.

If there is any point on which there is disagreement is impeachment. I think a significant majority of Democrats actually favor impeachment. I think most Democrats think we will get there. The disagreement comes in use of the word "impeach". Experienced Democrats, with some notable exceptions, prefer to follow Nancy Pelosi's lead and avoid the word, and when pressed, talk about waiting for more facts, or however that gets said. (I am in this camp.)

Currently, a meme is building in opposition to the Green New Deal. Right now it is mostly mocking the idea's backers. I think we all know this, like most every other such bill, will go nowhere even if it passes the House. The importance of such bills is to set the stage for 2020, when, presumably, Democrats will hold more power. Putting the out for debate now is not a bad thing, even if there is, right now, less than full throated support in our party.

The Democrats have work to do. That work falls into two broad categories - checking Trump and building a new foundation for our future return to power. I trust our party's leadership to guide us on both of those roads.
