I see this again and again.

I find it off-putting, and odd.

This is it's own forum. People who bring other tweets here are always bringing a 3rd persons commets or news over for us to share and see.

When you do it with your own tweets, it feels like either:

1) the online version of referring to yourself in the 3rd person
2) quoting yourself
3) self promotion

You are a long time and thoughtful poster, so I ask with respect and support.

I personally think it diminishes your standing as you might expect the above 3 behaviors might for anyone doing them relentlessly.

Maybe because I don't use Twitter, so there's some protocol I don't know about that's being contravened.

But really: If he just cut/pasted the text into an OP, I'd assume you'd be cool with that. So it seems like just a format issue.

I, for one, would never see these usually clever ripostes if they weren't posted here.
