Claire McCaskill will be on the show this morning. Joan Walsh too. This should be good!

Did the Angel Moroni say anything to the Mormons about Republican Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, or Water Wings, or any stuff like that? It is 2012, after all.
I'm always fascinated when prophecy comes true.
It will be interesting to listen to Bishop Willard (R) make his PROnouncemenT on this, um, Republican Values affair.

(31,706 posts)He wants to be the next Raygun...the "savior" that swoops out of the teevee to lead the great unhinged to the promised land. He surely views his polical accumen as beyond reproach and gladly offers the worst advice on a daily basis...but he thinks its spun gold. Joey got backbenched by his "buddies" Boner, Cantor and ignored by the boooosh regime that led him to quit the House and play teevee pundit. He's got a lot of scores to settle and hopes the rushpublican party implodes on itself creating a power vaccuum he, in his grand world plan, will fill. The ambition drips...so does the spite to those who sent him off to palookaville...

(70,594 posts)He has that "dead intern thing" that will never go away.
KharmaTrain
(31,706 posts)but not in the rushpublican one...and that's his audience. Even then the evidence continues to be circumstantial...and while many of us, yours truly included, would love to see an investigation of what happened...that's unlikely to happen. There were rumors about Raygun being complicit in a murder and that sure didn't hit the mainstream and stop him from being the "savior".

At least if he did run we might finally see a picture of Lori, which I have never seen in any of the stories either contemporaneously or from the 'net these days...

(7,768 posts)He is narcissistic, smug, arrogant, a bully and truly BELIEVES he's the smartest guy in the room. But I think his political career is over because of the incident of a dead intern in his office that was never fully scrutinized. THAT investigation would likely keep him from ever running again.
I didn't know about the "back-benching" by Cantor and Boner. What happened?
KharmaTrain
(31,706 posts)He was one of those "young turks"...from the class of '94 that I consider the nexxus of the polarizing politics we face today. He was an upstart who butted heads with other ambitious upstarts (Cantor). He tried and was succesful in getting Gingrich kicked out as leader but he never was a DeLay favorite and was passed over for leadership positions. He then considered running for Senate from Florida and the party moved to support Bill McCollum (a Joey nemesis) and that was the straw that led him to giving up on the house and grabbing an MSNBC gig.
While I would love to see the intern thing investigated, I don't think that is something that would hold him back in going after a rushpublican nomination. Call it a "youthful indiscretion" and the truth is her death was ruled "accidental" and would require opening what is a very cold case. It would be picked up as a witch hunt in the right wing media and may even rally support around him.
As you say...Joey is narcissistic and his huge ego is hoping to see the rushpublicans implode this year. He sees himself as the next Raygun...
Cheers...

(7,768 posts)Scar has a temper that shines through despite all the studio make-up. I've seen it. He can barely control it. His eyes narrow and his face gets red. I believe he can hold a grudge and getting revenge to those that burned him would be sweet for him. He's basically a mean guy.

(14,061 posts)Making light of it. Had it been a Democrat involved, Joe would be the first to demand a full congressional investigation and impeachment.
It may not be an earth-shaking story, but what happened is an insult to Israel, as well as to the millions of so-called Christians in this country who the GOP claims to best represent.

(1,663 posts)Joey "the bully boy" Scarborough tried to insinuate that McCaskill wanted Akins as her opponent and was faking her disgust with his comments and was really pleased that he had said this stuff. Scarface kept saying she had spent "$2 million dollars" trying to make Akins win ????? and that she didn't want the primary results interfered with by national Republicans because she wanted to run against Akins and not someone who was less obviously crazy. Huh? Didn't the Republican PACs spend $13 million trying to beat McCaskill? But she won her primary anyway because Democrats are not nutcases.
I'm sure that Claire is pleased that Akins' nuttiness has been displayed on the national stage because it reinforces her point that this guy is a radical conservative. But to blame her for his winning the primary is beyond ridiculous. The Republicans did this to themselves. They have "sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind." Sure, McCaskill will benefit from the curtain briefly blowing back on the right wing of the GOP but only because it gave the country a glimpse of the sick madness behind it.
Joe Blow blamed McCaskill for not insisting the Republicans replace Akins after his primary win and before the election. He insists that she is "acting" because she wasn't "doing cartwheels" about Akins statement. What??? Mika called him on it and defended Claire, but his cowering crew agreed with him. At the end of the show, Joe walked off the set after he tried to get one last jab in and Mika shot back. He sucks. I usually watch Soledad O'Brien unless there is a good guest on Morning Joe.

(7,768 posts)Mika shot back? Holy shit, how did I miss THAT?? Hope that's on their web-page tapes! (doubt it)
janet118
(1,663 posts)Very subtle. It was during that last "what have we learned today" segment. You could tell Joe was having one of his snits because Mika accused him of "acting" after he accused McCaskill of same thing.

(31,464 posts)Soledad. She had a comical interview with Christine "I am not a witch" O'Donnell. She couldn't keep from laughing out loud at her; O'Donnell has co-opted every left-wing term she can find and using them in something she is calling a "trouble makers" tour or some such nonsense. Soledad started to get tough with her, but quickly realized it was like beating up on a kindergartner, and finally just sat back and giggled while O'Donnell spouted her nonsense.
I even saw an article this weekend about Soledad, on Left Action, I think, being the only journalist on the air now. It's a refreshing break from the Dead Intern's Society old boys club.
