by Tamar Auber | Jan 9th, 2019, 6:55 pm
Speaking to CNNs Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) slammed President Donald Trumps lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, as a failure as both the mayor of New York City and an attorney.
Giuliani tells Reuters [that] the president wont answer any more questions from [Special Counsel Robert] Mueller, wont do interviews in writing or in person. He has only done them in writing so far once. He is promising a fight if they decide to issue a subpoena to the president, Blitzer said. What does that tell you?
Jeffries did not mince words.
Giuliani was a failed mayor, then a failed presidential candidate, Jeffries replied. Now, he is a failed lawyer. Its unfortunate he decided to take this obstructionist approach with respect to the investigation. Again, we need to allow this investigation to run its course. He added: You would think that the president and his allies, if he truly is innocent of any involvement in the mess that took place in 2016, would be willing to fully cooperate. That does not seem to be the case.
During the interview with Reuters on Wednesday that Blitzer was referencing, Giuliani said that as far as the Trump camp was concerned, the matter was over.
We werent convinced they had any questions they dont know the answer to, Giuliani told Reuters, adding that if Mueller tries to subpoena Trump, we could fight that like hell.

(12,618 posts)Is that the phony, media-created halo that was put on top of Rudy's head after 9-11 has been obliterated. Giuliani was no hero on 9-11, and has always been a shitty mayor and a shitty lawyer. Thank God we can stop pretending there is anything to admire about this asshole now. All he did on 9-11 was walk to the site of the attacks. That's it. And then he exploited them for his personal gain for the next decade, until even Republicans got tired of hearing him talk about it.

(28,290 posts)There was a very synchronized attack on him - still trying to figure out the source. He could have sank into oblivion, but then had to go to the RNC convention and say "9.11 happened on Obama's watch". Downhill from there.
