I took a science class once a long time ago, and the instructor asked us if gravity was a strong force or a weak force.
We all said 'strong', because it controls the motions of planets, and things like that.
In response, he reached over and picked up his coffee cup. "There', he said. "I just counteracted the gravitational pull of an entire planet."
As you said, it's weak, but relentless.
