The GOP Is Getting Ready To Bolt On Trump As 800,000 Workers Brace For No Paychecks

From the article:

According to Democratic Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware, Republicans in Congress are likely going to start breaking ranks this week as hundreds of thousands of government workers will miss their paychecks.
The Democrat told MSNBC’s Ari Melber that he expects the missing pays to add fuel to the disastrous political dumpster fire Trump has caused by shutting down the government over his vanity wall.

“I think that’s going to increase the pressure on Senators and House members to do what needs to be done here,” Sen. Coons said. “So I expect you’ll start seeing folks break ranks.”

Perhaps Susan Collins can express her sincere concern to all of these workers who are in danger. But Senator Collins will receive her pay.

And although he is "new", Rmoney might be one who might try to play the "moderate" card (when beneficial to him) and go along... Also Cory Gardner might be able to be peeled off as well, since he already conceded to the need to end the shutdown.

Problem is getting any of the bills on the calendar, which is something that Turtle controls.

It's all hot air until they actually commit (and follow through), and six of them aren't enough anyway.

Otherwise it's just the usual Flake-ery show of hand-wringing and "concern", then toeing the Party line as they always end up doing.

My guess is,once the declaration is in place,Trump will use it to bounce Mueller and try to depose anyone who he thinks will oppose him or his family in anyway shape or form.

He's hoping that only the GOP will get heat from their constituents, but I see both sides getting pressure to make some sort of a compromise.

And that's what it's going to take to get this resolved. Even if the Senate takes up a measure passed by the House, some Senator who wants to be the next Trump (Cruz comes to mind immediately) stands in the way, and the Trump base gravitates to that Senator to steal away the 2020 nomination.

We hear from Democrats all the time about what some random named Republican says they don't like Trump. But they still stick to Trump.

I believe Republicans loathe Trump. The Republicans I know can't stand him and openly mock him daily. But not enough to come over to the Democratic party or anything close to liberal politics. They're comfortable, rich, and insulated enough to moan about Trump but do nothing in reality.

I suspect Republicans in DC are doing the same thing: Moaning about Trump at the bar after work, but not really doing anything.
