I saw "The Campaign" yesterday and couldn't believe how much the Sea of Galilee story

sounded just like that movie! The makers of this film go to absurd lengths to mock political figures and their campaigns and this morning, boom, we have a nekkid freshman Congressman cavorting in a sacred place in the Holy Land! In the movie, the Congressman played by Will Ferrel gets down and dirty with a curvy blonde in a porta-potty...gross...and continues throughout the film with outrageous behaviors, punching a baby and a cute dog. making obscene phone calls that mistakenly go to a Fundie family, videotaping the candidate having drunken sex with his opponents wife...

The funny thing about the movie is that several talking heads play themselves, making commentary about the outlandish actions of the candidates -- Chris Matthews, Wolf Blitzer, Joe, Mika and Willy (on the MJ set), and others.

Parody? Or realism? Hard to tell the difference any more...

...that the Sea of Galilee is "a sacred place in the Holy Land" quite disturbing.

Israel is a modern nation, and the Sea of Galilee is a popular tourist spot.
I'm sure that humans have gotten tipsy and skinny dipped in Galilee for thousands of years.
I read elsewhere someone comparing this congressman's behavior (from a year ago) to the Taliban destroying the Buddha statues in Afghanistan.

Liberal scolds are the worst, because we should know better.

I myself am agnostic so I don't really care. I'm just fine with letting the repukes eat their own. If that makes me a "scold," well so be it...

I'm not buying into that whole theory that the GOP is getting ready to toss their ticket into the crapper and get a replacement team. But I have been wrong before...I didn't think Romney would pick Ryan but was delighted when he did. I'd be delighted if the GOP just fell apart under the weight of bad publicity and disastrous moves by party members, including Mitt himself.
