Mitt Romney sharpened his response to Rep. Todd Akin's (R-MO) "legitimate rape" comment Monday.
"Rep. Akin comments on rape are insulting, inexcusable, and, frankly, wrong," Romney told National Review. "Like millions of other Americans, we found them to be offensive."
Romney said Akin's remarks were "entirely without merit and he should correct it."

(37,364 posts)Akin was trying to rationalize. The bill is insulting and inexcusable too. Mitt, this won't go away.

(413 posts)I don't see how Romney's criticism, which could be used in negative ads, is compatible with Akin running a competitive race. Still, Akin might hang on out of stubbornness.
