If it sounds too crazy, come at it from the other side

If a Russian asset were elected President, what might he do?

He might refuse to fill many appointed positions, and fill the rest with people who are incompetent or have conflicts of interest.

He might unilaterally abrogate treaties when that was within his power.

He might confiscate all records of his meetings with Russia's President.

He might spread doubts about the impartiality and professionalism of US law enforcement.

He might work to weaken NATO (POTUS cannot unilaterally withdraw from NATO, fortunately).

He might change his party's platform to benevolent neutrality over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

He might refuse to implement sanctions passed by Congress against Russia.

At least to me, that's what a compromised Presidency would look like.

Such an individual would also try to fire or dismiss as many competent and loyal Americans as possible.

They'd also attempt to damage the US economy and US security by, say, rendering important federal services - air traffic control, transportation security, food safety, maritime search and rescue, etc. - impotent...

Then they'd probably order federal troops on non-essential tasks, taking away training time, limiting the effectiveness and readiness to deploy of forces in the strategic reserve, and harming morale by deploying forces in garrison to the field on pointless missions.

the list goes on...

“The Sixth Sense” — when you realize Bruce Willis was actually dead throughout the movie and the director recaps all the moments when you thought Bruce was in the scene but was actually absent. That recapping is what we’re undergoing now, as we recall all of Trump’s nihilistic maneuvers & destruction of democratic policies, we are now seeing Trump as a genuine CURRENTLY ACTIVE RUSSIAN ASSET!!! “I see traitorous people.”

He would discredit the media and talk up propagandists.

He would destroy our environment.

He would launder money for Russia oligarchs and Russian mafia figures.

He would foment hate as a means to drive wedges to divide the American public over issues such as the wall, and desensitize people to feel empathy for others.

which will allow to complete the transfer of wealth. This is the single most important purpose of trade wars. He may not be able to withdraw from NATO but he may reduce funding for it, alienate allies to the point that we may get voted out of NATO. POTUS power in international relations, trade and militrary are almost unrestrained.

He and his VP pick might nominate a man who's worked closely with the Russian President to assure that president that sanctions against that government will be lifted soon after inauguration, then have his VP put that man and his son on his transition team.

He might assassinate the careers of the heads of his foremost expert in the world, the FBI's Deputy Assistant Director of the Counterintelligence and the DOJ's foremost Russian Organized Crime Expert, if for instance he had been involved in a counterintelligence operation with Russia or had ties to Russian organized crime.

And when the heat is on, he might send a representative from his political party to pass along information to the Russian leader on his behalf, since it might look too fishy if he had two closed to the press meetings with a hostile foreign power's leader.

And don't get me started!
