Trump's disapproval rating higher since shutdown began
Trump's disapproval rating has increased since the beginning of the ongoing government shutdown, according to a new poll.
A CNN poll published Sunday found that Trump's disapproval rating is at 57 percent, up 5 points from December. The ongoing partial government shutdown began Dec. 22.
The poll also found that his approval rating is at 37 percent, roughly the same it was last month. Respondents also indicated that a majority of the public blames Trump for the shutdown, rather than Democrats.
According to the poll, 55 percent of respondents said Trump is to blame for the shutdown and 32 percent said Democrats are mostly to blame. Another 9 percent of respondents said both sides are to blame.
The poll's results are based on interviews with a random sample of 848 adults on Jan. 10 and Jan. 11. The poll has a margin of error of 4.1 percentage points.
