*ANYTHING* to distract from the Russian coup. They RIGGED the fucking election, and Hillary Clinton is the rightful president of the United States of America.
There. I said it.
They will lie, distract, malign, and every other thing any of us can think of as though their LIVES depended on it.
Because it *does*.
This is the biggest attack on our nation in the HISTORY of our nation because thus far, it has been successful. They twisted our right arm, and brought America to its knees. Don't think they won;t try to do the same thing on the left.
But Claude Taylor is right...we will get through this. Together.

(27,828 posts)who just think it's a joke that Russian interference had anything to do with the election, much less vote suppression or gerrymandering. It's unbelievable, really. These are just FB friends for the most part, although I do know a few people I just don't discuss it with, because of, well, various reasons that I don't want to get into here. Suffice it to say that they've all convinced themselves that if Hillary had campaigned in Appleton, Wisconsin and the like, all would have corrected itself.

(58,785 posts)Quoted once again on Ben Wittes's Twitter feed:
Those then who resist a confirmation of public order are the true Artificers of monarchynot that this is the intention of the generality of them. Yet it would not be difficult to lay the finger upon some of their party who may justly be suspected.
When a man unprincipled in private life desperate in his fortune, bold in his temper, possessed of considerable talents, having the advantage of military habitsdespotic in his ordinary demeanourknown to have scoffed in private at the principles of libertywhen such a man is seen to mount the hobby horse of popularityto join in the cry of danger to libertyto take every opportunity of embarrassing the General Government & bringing it under suspicionto flatter and fall in with all the non sense of the zealots of the dayIt may justly be suspected that his object is to throw things into confusion that he may ride the storm and direct the whirlwind.
* Those then who resist a confirmation of public order are the true Artificers of monarch
* by flattering the prejudices of the people, and exciting their jealousies and apprehensions
* to throw affairs into confusion and bring on civil commotion
* to take every opportunity of embarrassing the General Government & bringing it under suspicion
* to flatter and fall in with all the non sense of the zealots of the day
This is exactly how our national government was delivered from the responsible, liberal progressive hands of Democrats in 2016 to those who elected Trump.
