tRump could have at least brought the Clemson players to his hotel right across the street from the

WH where none of the hotel staff are being furloughed. Fresh food (I think) appropriate to their dietary requirements. I would bet a lot of that fast food displayed at the WH went untouched and a steak dinner followed after they got away from the WH. Oh well, more for Donnie tonight..

. . . isn't right across the street from the White House. It's a little over a mile from there, east along Pennsylvania Avenue.

The better option for the players and coaches from the Clemson team, it seems to me, would have been to decline the "honor" altogether. But if you choose to accept Trump's invitation, you get what you deserve, whatever that happens to be. Almost by definition.
