Some of the frosh Democrats are coming in with big experience, several were prosecutors or district administration's, one was a Cabinet member and headed a major university, one has extensive experience as a CIA analyst.

You will see more frosh appointed to top level Comittees.

Someone did an OP asking why Comittee assignments was taking so long. I did not respond to the OP, but wish I had. It seem that Democratic Leaders will be moving a lot of frosh onto important Comittees, they have to find meaningful spots for senior democrats that will have to go to other assignments.

Democrats have been tagged with being anti military because they will not open the country's wallet and let the Pentagon take as much as it wants to take. A healthy nation has a number of priorities that must be met, defense is just one of those. BTW, NO great empire has ever been defeated by external invaders, what has happened is internal rot weakened the empires to the point where defending themselves became impossible, at that point, external invaders finished them off. We have infrastructure needs, education needs, healthcare needs, environmental needs, my argument is that failure on any one of those will destroy us much faster than China will.
