BARR has been around the block, but whereas others use their experience as a check on malfeasance, he gives the distinct impression that his experience, as with CHEENEE and Darth RUMSFELD, will be a playbook for exploiting all the loopholes. Lindsey and CORNYN licked all the honey off him. DiFi appeared to be intimidated by him, first got him to say he didn't know much about the Emoluments Clause, damning, but then she let him off the hook saying she doesn't either. Senators LEAHY and DURBIN pinned him to the wall, but he said he wouldn't abide by the Ethics recommendations on recusal, would make his own administrative decision. He said his 20 page memo to ROSENSTEIN was just an opinion that any former "senior official" would exercise the right to submit, even while he and none of us know what's going on inside the investigation. Oh, and that he was never critical of the investigation, bah humbug.
Just that he refers to anything said by TWITLER as some kind of authoritative policy statement is a tell that he is a toady.

(29,227 posts)waiting for him after he is installed as AG and somehow kills or waters down the Mueller report.
Maybe $100M to $500M allocated for it.
something motivated this asshole from his semi-retirement to write the memo that got him this gig.

(15,124 posts)IMHO, this shows in the half-hearted way they question this wingnut hack.
They ask their prepared question and then move on without a follow up NO MATTER WHAT Barr has said as a response. Evasion, deflection, "I don't have enough information to comment", whatever. I'm not aware that he has said anything yet that would nail him down to doing or not doing anything he damn well pleases.
