Gov. Kevin Stitt Plans to Use His Office to Align ‘With What God Is Doing in Oklahoma’
By Kyle Mantyla | January 15, 2019 2:24 pm

Newly elected Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma attended an “Inaugural Prayer Service” today, during which declared that it is his mission to align the state “with what God is doing in Oklahoma,” while his wife proclaimed that it is their responsibility as Christians to use their position in elected office “to go our into our state and save people and bring people to” Jesus.

We now have Trump as Governor of our state, and we have a Trump as the President of the University of Oklahoma.

plus she's going to save people. Will she save people from poverty, provide them with health care, work on climate change or will it be anti gay and transgender and take away abortion. I'm sure it's the latter.

missionaries which is probably what their true calling is. Hello? The purpose of government at any level is decidedly not 'to save people and bring them to Jesus.'

It's to govern, something Republicans have forgotten how to do.

Though wouldn't it be a hoot if he decided to implement programs to feed the hungry, house the homeless, tend to the sick and imprisoned, and free the captives? You know, those things Jesus said? Maybe proclaim the year of jubilee and the forgiveness of debt? Make it the law of the land for Oklahomans to welcome the stranger, the immigrant, the refugee, and the sojourner as they welcome their own family?

Yeah, I know, Gov. Stitt's Jesus don't swing that way.

Oklahoma is worse than TN where I live now.

Oklahoma wasn't anything like this when I was growing up there.
