Debbie Wasserman Schultz: Why I refuse to walk with the Washington Women's March

I agree with her. These people taint the movement and their racism should not go unaddressed.

I walked away from the Women’s March on Washington two years ago absolutely electrified by the promise of what a movement built around sisterhood and solidarity could accomplish.

Today, sadly, I must walk away from the national Women’s March organization, and specifically its leadership.

Instead, this weekend, I will join a movement of women around the nation who are participating in local marches that have distanced themselves from those national Women’s March leaders who still ally with bigotry....more

The 2017 Womens March in DC was a highlight of my life. But, I never even got close to where the speakers were - didn't know who was speaking, didn't hear any of them, didn't know who organized it, didn't care.

It was about the masses of people - all ages, all skin tones, families - gathering together in solidarity against the corrupt buffoon in the WH and his Republican toadies.

Polite. Energized. Buoyed. Happy. Angry. Determined.

We will never forget that day. Not ever.
