Cable networks need to fill time. Ergo, pundits sit there guessing

Most of the pundits we see on MSNBC and CNN are sitting there offering their personal opinions. Well, guess what. Our opinions are as valid as theirs. They are paid to sit there and expound on their personal guesses/opinions on ... everything.

I do not include many guests on these shows who are knowledgeable and are stating facts about which they have actual knowledge. Such people aren't guessing or offering personal opinions. They are telling us (a self-edited version) about the reality to which they have access.

Many here are as addicted to liberal media as the wingnuts are addicted to Fox. We can't let our addictions totally drive our opinions/beliefs.

Turn off the TV for a while. Read something else. Think. Evaluate. Judge reality on your own.

I don't mean to be a nag here. But I too have gotten caught up in the MSNBC/CNN world.

Change your habits for a bit. It doesn't mean you'll become a wingnut. It means you will broaden your world view.

Give it a try.

Ah, no. Malcolm Nance knows a lot more about "this stuff" than me or you.

Too many personal opinions. If I want opinions, I come to DU. Think I will watch Super Vet while drinking my coffee ☕️ this morning.

You hit the nail on the head. Cable news is 24/7 Breathless Breaking Infotainment designed to fill airtime between commercials for drugs we never knew we needed.

A New Years resolution. While its cold I decided to ditch cable news and instead catch up on my TV show binging, its way more enjoyable than the constant rattling of recycled pundit opinions followed by corporate adverstising all damn day long. I still stay in touch with breaking news on my favorite source (DU) and if there is a breaking story worth tuning in for then I turn it on long enough to get the jist of it. Otherwise I'm treating myself to shows I have been wanting to see but haven't had the time because of being on cable news waiting for an interesting development such as an actual new indictment which is constantly discussed and rarely materializes.

I've knocked down 11 episodes of the Sopranos during the last 72 hour news cycle.
