I get the idea as revising the language to remove gender concepts that might not be supported.

That said, it may be alienating to many people who may find it odd.

In Spanish, for instance, there is a lot of gendered language, of course. The use of gendered titles seems widespread across many countries. Titles generally strike me as unneeded.
