8. A JUUL pod contains as much nicotine as a whole pack of cigs, yet a majority of adolescent

JUUL smokers believe they are mainly just inhaling the flavoring. And JUUL's original campaign targeted teens, no matter what they claim now.

15. But is nicotine the real problem here?

The health problems of cigarettes primarily seem to be the toxic smoke used to deliver the nicotine. It's full of fine particulates and toxic chemicals. Is more nicotine, but with no particulates or other toxins, really such a health hazard compared to the alternative of smoking cigarettes?

I'm getting an awful feeling we're about to make some kind of mistake, and that the criminal gangs that are losing revenues due to marijuana legalization will turn to running untaxed cigarettes.

16. Nicotine is what gets them addicted.

Maybe it's not the most harmful thing in the cigarette smoke, but the net harm might be worse since they're telling people "this is not as bad" when it's got more that twice the addictive power.

Many people might get addicted from the e-cigs and then switch to tobacco when they can't get the e-cigs, and they'll already have a nicotine tolerance that makes them start off at 3 packs a day.

disease, high blood pressure, and strokes. It is an addiction as hard to shake as heroine--and some experts say even harder.

WaPo
and NYTimes have done articles about how serious a health problem it has become among teens and young adults. I teach college students. They have told me horror stories about their and their friends' addiction to JUUL.

Otherwise it would have read: FDA pulls e-cigarettes off the market due to widespread and increasing use by children.

They'll be required to get actual cigarettes, light them on fire, and expose their lungs to tars and toxic and carcinogenic combustion products.

Mmmmm, nothing as delicious as inhaling benzene with your nicotine!

If e-cigs & vaping were properly regulated (and I mean regulating the manufacturers - nicotine dosages, what ingredients are allowed in vape juice), it can bring the harm level of vaping down in line with having a cup of coffee.
