"I wish these young men could put their energy to really make this country great, like feed the hungry.."

(1,151 posts)colleges that condone and encourage this vile behavior. As long as its not directed towards right-wing white people, anyway.

(63,221 posts)feel like acting on their sick impulses is sanctioned by today's warped society. I hope their actions dog them throughout their college years (if they get in anywhere) and after. I want to see them pay for their horrible behavior.

(33,375 posts)I still can't see twitter video.
Would it be appropriate for Rep. Sharice Davids or Rep. Deb Haaland to speak with Mr. Phillips about this incident?

(3,750 posts)These young men need to learn from this heroic vet that it is more important to love and care for the welfare of others than to hate and seek to hurt those who need our help. Disgusting attitude, but I am afraid it is rampant in our culture.

(15 posts)As a proud graduate of CCH, I am not so proud today. These boys need to be punished,no doubt but remember they are teenagers. Teenagers do stupid things.
To mess up their scholarships is a little much in my opinion.

(25,586 posts)Not nearly enough, in my opinion. They need abject public humiliation and shaming. They need to be made examples of. Their wealthy white parents can pay for their college educations.

(87 posts)You seem rather defensive. Why not call these young fascists out? We were all teenagers once, but not all of us were so disrespectful like these aholes.

(41,987 posts)Why the MAGA attire? Is that a prevailing attitude? Why wouldnt there be adults who stopped them and apologized? Do you have any insight as to why the school would be full of young men who think its allright to harass and intimidate an elder that way?
Are you a recent grad? Was your experience different?
Im asking with respect.

(797 posts)Perhaps the should have any scholarships transferred to Indian school on a reservation.
Perhaps they could learn differently in such an environment.

(90 posts)If I where a parent of those boys I would be thinking of lawsuit against the school for failing to provide chaperones that would keep them out of danger.

(15 posts)I graduated in 73.Different time back then the teachers would strike you.I did learn in high school not to judge people. Covington Catholic is not for the wealthy it is middle class and in a district that is redder than red, I know because I live there. I am sure the bishop and the school will come up with an appropriate punishment.Hopefully a teaching moment.
