MSNBC a little while ago and the main message is: We can't negotiate while the gov't is shut down, period.

None of this "I'll re-open the government if you give me $5.7 billion for my wall" crap. No rewards for hostage-taking.

It seems to be the team mantra as all of the House folks I've heard on any stream after the "speech" was based on that premise. No negotiations while gov't is closed, period.

I like it. I'm thinking the pressure will be so bad for Rs who are going home this weekend that by Wed or Thurs it might be open. And I'm expecting a big surprise around about Monday or Tuesday if not sooner.
