Glenn Kirschner, on Lawrence's Show, said everybody was looking for a "smoking gun"...

And thought they had found it with the Buzzfeed report. But, Mueller stomped it down in his pursuit of the truth, paraphrasing.

I'm not sure that Mueller had much say in the matter.

I think the White House heard the news and panicked.

In my opinion, they called Whitaker, the present AG, and requested that he call Rosenstein and correct the information that was reported on by the two reporters from Buzzfeed.

I think Rosenstein probably wrote the response. It was scattered and confusing and hardly anyone knew what it said?

Just my opinion.

I’ve wondered why there hasn’t been more speculation that the statement was written by or commissioned by Whitaker. At least the talking heads I’ve heard haven’t mentioned that at all. Thanks for bringing it up.
