Trump does NOT care about hurting people. So how can dems get govt working???

If your opponent does NOT care how much harm he does, what can you do?

And now we learn he's getting the FBI and federal courts shut down.

Does that mean no one can bring a case against him? File complaints with FBI?

It's Trump's ideal world. Do whatever he wants and not have to face any consequences.

I do not see how with someone like Trump we can survive without dems (who actually do care about suffering of others and a functioning govt) giving up more than we can afford.

The kidnapper is pushing in the knife. What do the police do? Maybe they'll get the kidnapper--but the hostage may end up bleeding to death on the floor.

McConnell could generate a veto-proof majority in the Senate, and I'm pretty sure the House could get one too.

Maybe we should concentrate on hurting Mitch McConnell.

The bills passed by the democratic House have a good chance of passing the republican Senate with veto-proof (66) majority.

That's why McConnell refuses to let them come up for a vote.

Currently ~60% of people blame Trump, ~35% blame the Democrats and ~5% blame the Republicans for the shutdown. That's why the Republicans won't do anything: they are safe from public wrath and actually doing anything could tie them to Trump's bad approval-numbers.

If the Dems can mount a PR-campaign that ties the Republicans to McConnell's and Trump's sabotage, then they will be forced to do something.
