Shocking news on income inequality.

Last edited Tue Jan 22, 2019, 08:25 PM - Edit history (2)

I saw on MSNBC today that the top 1% increased their wealth by 900 billion, and that the top 24 individuals have more wealth (about 1.4 trillion) than the bottom 3.8 billion people. We, me included have been fed a false dream about the American dream that hard work will get you ahead. And the media has helped convince people it is somehow a personal fault. We should not be cowed into thinking raising taxes on the wealthy is wrong or will hurt society or our economy.

has accumulate massive wealth at the expense of low paid workers. That is how wealth is amassed - at the expense of others. They then have nothing to do but buy art pieces to outdo each other.

She had some poignant things to say as usual. But I was surprised by some of these biz leaders' insights. I will try to post in a separate thread.

none of them would ever actually ride a bus or even a downscale helicopter.

Not 'ha ha' funnny, more 'OMG what is wrong with our society' funny.
