These kids absolutely had a political agenda as evidenced by their MAGA hats. They were there to stir up shit. I have no doubt they were looking for a fight with somebody or somebodies.

7. Wisconsin Council of Churches Sponsoring Bus Trips to Washington D.C. for Rally to End Racism

The Wisconsin Council of Churches is sponsoring bus departures from four cities to events taking place in Washington, D.C. on the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unite to End Racism is both a rally and a call to action, organized by the National Council of Churches with partners, including the National African American Clergy Network, Conference of National Black Churches, Sojourners, Franciscan Action Network, Churches Uniting in Christ, and Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, and its member communions.

On April 4th, an Interfaith Service of Prayer and Preparation will be held at the Lincoln Memorial, and the Unite to End Racism Rally on the National Mall. April 5th is Lobby Day and participants will head to Capitol Hill for legislative advocacy. The Wisconsin Council of Bishops is offering two bus options:

I'm personally against churches being tax exempt because so many have allowed the right-wing to come in and occupy them, and because the IRS practically refuses to enforce the rules relating to churches.

Unfortunately most are shielded from public accountability and they will cry heresy and beat you with the good book if you dare question them.

If churches were treated just like tax-exempt charities and government organizations, they would be required to have open books, all their services transcripted for inspection and their activities completely opened to public scrutiny. Church folks would fight that to the death.

they will become even more embolden and entitled expecting more and more from government as fat as their power. At least for now we can make a case that they don’t matter when it comes to civil matters and civil law because they do not contribute.

Exempting churches from taxes amounts to favored treatment for churches, which violates the 1st Amendment's prohibition against government establishment of religion.

The sad thing is that for every example provided in this thread, there's 1,000 Covington Catholics out there ready to stir up shit. It should apply to everyone.

I don't want the government using the taxing authority to attack Churches, or Synagogues, or Mosques with which it disagrees.

The separation of Church and State must work both ways.
