General Discussion

She did fantastic, but it's over (for now). Continuing to post about this is just going to keep pushing stuff down the page. There are plenty of posts already to respond to or just k&r.

(32,086 posts)I learned a long time ago that people don't bother reading through all the threads here to see if someone else posted the same thing. I usually delete the duplicates. No point in getting annoyed over it, when there are more pertinent things to be outraged over.

(22,037 posts)The SOTU discourse was a major win for Speaker Pelosi and Democrats.
It feels good in these bad times and some of us want to savor it.
More importantly, this episode shows that the Democratic leaders are going to finally fight back now that they have some political leverage.

(32,640 posts)Why are you singling out Pelosi in particular?
grumpyduck
(6,240 posts)And I think she kicked ass too. I'm commenting on the avalanche of duplicate posts that just push "new" stuff down the page.
Geez, let's not go back to me being a troll... I went through that shit enough when I first joined and had a low post count. And as far as my username, yeah, this admin has made me want to write it all in capital letters.
ehrnst
(32,640 posts)You said that about no one else, and no other subject.
That's the definition of "singling out."
I didn't call you a troll, nor did I comment on your name.
Strawman, or just confusing anyone who disagrees with you as the same.

this admin makes me want to write it in capital letters.
That's the admin in DC, not the one here in DU. Just to clarify.

(146,318 posts)The DU website provides tools you can use to control your experience here, and offers multiple ways to view the site. Instead of wasting time telling people not to write posts about a subject, in a post about that subject, you might look at the site itself and see if you can't find ways to tailor it to your personal needs.

(28,266 posts)Were you even around to witness just how dirty this site got in the last presidential campaign season, just how much ugly shit got flung in Hillary Clinton's face? If people at DU are expressing an extended admiration for a powerful, effective, female Democrat, there's good reason for it.

(6,240 posts)at what I saw coming and wanted an outlet or a place to exchange ideas and maybe find out how to do something about it. As far as the ugly shit flung around, I do my best to ignore it, especially when it comes from people of adult age, although sometimes I feel a galaxy-class urge to fling some myself.
I almost turned cartwheels when I saw Pelosi's response, but didn't want to break my back.

(42,862 posts)Absolutely not! I think it's important to remind the "NEVER-NANCY" and "she's-too-OLD" people what a foolish and short-sighted mistake it would have been to dismiss and discard one of the most experienced voices we have.
I hope all the "cheerleading" posts serve as a strong reminder that EXPERIENCE COUNTS and that "change-for-the-sake-of-change" isn't always the best decision.
NANCY ROCKS!!

(6,240 posts)are all those posts just singing to the choir? If anything, they should be made in public.
Although I agree that some old posts here might ("might" because I didn't read them) have been a mistake.
