Trump Starts To Lose Conservatives Who See Wall As Simplistic Fixation

By Kate Riga

January 24, 2019 8:01 am

Though President Donald Trump’s border wall has long alienated Democrats of all stripes, some conservatives are cooling on the idea as well, since they see other border security measures as more important and effective.

According to a Wednesday Politico report, hardliners are much more gung-ho about measures like E-Verify and reducing legal immigration than a few miles of wall.

“President Trump was elected to put forth a multi-pronged approach to immigration, not just build a couple hundred miles of border barriers,” RJ Hauman, government relations director at the pro-enforcement Federation for American Immigration Reform, told Politico. “It’s disappointing to see what he’s doing now.”

“Ultimately a border wall is less important than interior enforcement, including E-Verify,” Reihan Salam, executive editor of National Review, added.

He was elected, if I may adapt a phrase, "to crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the commie libtards".

"Build the wall" is squarely in keeping with that spirit. In comparison, a multi-pronged approach to immigration is the sort of mealy-mouthed "reality based" approach that liberal Democrats could support. Eeeeeeewwwwwwww!!!!!!

Don't write your conservative fantasies onto what he "was elected to" do. Own your team, pal, and the consequences of how you trained your teammates to play the game. Either dance with them what brung ya, or leave the dance.

... so he can throw a $1 billion contract to the Russian guy who owns the steel mill that makes the special steel slats. At least some of that money will filter back to Pootie of course, since the guy is one of Pootie's oligarchs. We need the little boy in the story who says "The Emperor has nothing on!"

Being exposed again trying to make the American people pay by shutting down the government for a wall he promised Mexico would pay for, and the American people overwhelming are against his wall , and especially him shutting the government down hurting millions of federal employees , and others connected with the federal government. Its called bait and switch people. Its just like his accusing others of what he's doing. Remember all the bad things he's accused others of? If they find he's taking orders from Putin he'll be looking at some pretty serious consequences for all he's done to hurt this country.
