SOTU Article II Section 3

He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper; he shall receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers; he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States.

Nothing about when, nothing about yearly, nothing about a speech.
There is no reason he must give a SOTU, in writing or in a speech this year.
One thing is sure, if he does not deliver it to Congress, it is NOT a SOTU.

It's a SOTU, so there will be a formal Democratic response, as always. jpljr77 Jan 2019 #6

I wonder if the entire Democratic caucus would get up and walk out if he starts spewing BS?

Decorum is decorum, and no man -- not even one as vile as Donald Trump -- should force Democrats to break decorum.

I just wonder what the response to his BS will be. Thea is one but I don't expect it. As Ms. Pelosi will have the reins of the House firmly in her grasp with regard to decorum, because she's that way in a good way.

I thought what Joe Wilson did was reason for censure.

but since he can only be there at the Congress' invitation, they would be good hosts and say.
But they should sit on their hands the whole time. NO CLAPPING FOR ANYTHING!!!
