Young voters actually did rock Florida's vote in 2018 ... +15 points in 2018 (Original Post) iluvtennis Jan 2019 OP

How in the hell did DeSantis and Scott both win with such a relatively huge youth turnout? LonePirate Jan 2019 #2
They won because of voter suppression and all of the votes not being counted. My opinion only. iluvtennis Jan 2019 #3
Youth turnout was paltry compared to increases elsewhere Awsi Dooger Jan 2019 #4

Gillum and Nelson probably won more than 70% of the youth vote. Older generations must have been even more overwhelmingly red.

Completely misleading article. Who cares about raw number comparison to 2014? The comparison is to how other key blocks are turning out.

Bottom line, Republicans did a much better job in registration numbers and turnout in Florida. Old white voters love Donald Trump and in many states and areas that is more than enough to sway the result. I have witnessed the relentless emphasis all along. They are on my Miami street canvassing the neighborhood even when elections are months and years away. There is no chance the GOP should have gained in registration percentage statewide since November 2016, with Trump stuck at such low approval throughout. But that is the reality.

The 18-29 bracket in Florida was only 10% of the vote in 2018, compared to 14% in 2014. Meanwhile the 65 and up bracket was 36% of the electorate in 2018 compared to only 25% in 2014. Age 30-44 was 19% in 2014 but dropped to 15% in 2018.

Those numbers are at these links. First one won't link directly, for some reason. Have to click on "Exit Polls." Second one links directly:
