US-Born Marine Detained By ICE Was Carrying His US Passport When He Was Arrested

A US-born Marine vet who served in Afghanistan had his US passport, a REAL ID driver’s license, a military ID card, and his dog tags with him when he was arrested by police in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and turned over to ICE which held him for three days

This story just keeps getting worse and worse.

I pointed out a few days ago that one of the first things to pop up when you get ID'd is your fingerprint record. EVERY service member is printed upon entry to the military, which means that they FUCKING knew he was a US citizen IMMEDIATELY and yet still held him for three days.

These ICE bastards and their naked racism make me want to puke blood.

I hope some ACLU lawyer takes his case and they sue the shit out of ICE. Treating US citizens like they're criminals is wrong. DEAD wrong.

The Marine was born in Michigan, so just where did ICE think they were going to deport him to? Wisconsin?

I'm just waiting for some power-drunk ICE goon to arrest my NY-based daughter (US citizen, born in Germany) and her fiancé (Israeli citizen, born in Russia, valid green card), and try to deport them to who-knows-where.

didn’t get in the news. Imagine, they can arrest you and even if you have ID, they’ll confiscate and destroy it and say you are undocumented. And have no right for an attorney of course or even contact while in jail. It is inconcievable how much power they amassed under trump. They truly can turn into gestapo terrorizing hispanic citizens.

official immigration authorities. He had a freaking Passport! He had other identification that showed he is a US Citizen. What should have happened was a sincere apology from all law enforcement involved in this crap. I guess Trump's Brown Shirts can just do as they please with people of color.

Screw that!
