We have 20 days to change the field of battle.

It will do no good to allow Trump to return to stalemate on February 15.

ALL Federal workers that are not enlisted in the military should declare that they WILL NEVER AGAIN WORK WITHOUT PAY!

No Air Traffic Control.

No TSA.

No customs agents at border crossings...(that means closed borders),

No food inspection (everyone eats canned food).

This would look like a general strike.

Payments to doctors and hospitals would be suspended. They would have to extend credit or hold bake sales.

Social Security checks could only go out if they are on auto-pilot.

Who could FAULT employees for not returning to slavery?

Every segment of the economy would be paralyzed.

It must be announced in advance. Let everyone know that without government services, the economy crashes. Let the Davos crowd chew on that possibility.

If the pain of another shutdown were felt by everyone, it would be politically impossible to impose.

Let's not fight the same battle again.

there isn't going to be another shut down. It's over. Congress will come up with a border security package that sounds impressive and has no wall. Pelosi and McConnell will direct Trump to sign it. Trump will find some other distraction.

Or participate in a work stoppage.

Speaking as a retiree with over 33 years experience as a Union Representative in the USPS, a Federal Agency.

Non-whites were excluded from Forsyth County, Georgia by law until 1964, and by practice until VERY recently. Brave souls protested and died to bring justice. A civil war was once fought over the issue of indentured servitude. They broke the law over core principles

Using the compelled free labor of 800,000 citizens in a political power play is wrong. Let the Federal Marshalls arrest them. See how many juries vote to convict.

I am probably naive about this possibility. I get it. If this work stoppage were supported by others in the economy, by withholding commerce, a powerful statement could be made. Maybe it is as simple as individuals shutting off ALL internet activity. In 2019, that would be a blow to commerce (and a few people might 're-connect with the strangers living in their home).

My point is, citizens must promise serious consequences to anyone trying this in February. Not only on the backs of federal workers, but in support of them.
