Roger Stone Draws the Judge Who Threw Paul Manafort in Jail

Self-anointed political dirty trickster Roger Stone will have to tread carefully as he prepares to defend against charges of obstructing Special Counsel Robert Muellers probe and lying about his communications with WikiLeaks.
The no-nonsense judge assigned Stones case has already demonstrated that shes got little patience for defendants who misbehave. U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson issued a gag order on Donald Trumps former campaign manager Paul Manafort and later revoked his bail and threw him in jail.
This is not middle school, Jackson told Manaforts lawyers before ordering him locked up in June for alleged witness tampering. I cant take his cellphone.
She also reprimanded Manaforts lead attorney Kevin Downing for a sidewalk speech he gave after his clients arraignment and soon after issued a gag order barring parties from discussing the case with the press.
That kind of self-restraint could present a challenge for Stone, who is accustomed to speaking his mind. Shortly after appearing in a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, court Friday, Stone addressed a crowd of reporters, fans and detractors, proclaiming the charges against him were politically motivated and declaring his innocence. He also promised to appear on television later Friday.

(21,577 posts)That only facts matter in court. People like Stone make a living manipulating public opinion in the press. That shit dont fly in court. Reality is going to come at him FAST and it will be a joy to watch.

(5,810 posts)He was enjoying the limelight and attention he was getting. Just look at his face. Pure ecstasy. But that look will be gone after the reality of his situation sinks in. He is so used to being in control of the narrative, it will be a rude shock to him when someone else is in charge. I hope to see a chastened and humbled Stone but, like with tRump, I fear it is wishful thinking.
I was thinking yesterday watching him pontificating on the courthouse steps that an assessment by some of our qualified psychologists would be helpful. Anyone give us an analysis of his personality disorders?? He surely has some.....
