As we all discuss, debate, argue current events, the danger stalks us.

For the past two years we have been without a president or a functioning government. As we talk about Lunatic Trump, the indictments, the shutdown and all the other crazy shit that is going on, we ignore the biggest danger.

The economic and foreign policy damage that has been done and that will be done. The incompetence and corruption of the past two years and the years to come, may one day ruin our lives. We are in great danger. We have been getting warnings. The news media reports it and then moves on.

We have been very lucky so far. The next two years are going to be chaos. Trump and the Republican party are going to be torn apart by all the investigations. We are very lucky the democrats won back the House. They may be able to hold things together until 2020.

The American people are under estimating the damage to our economy and foreign policy caused by trump and the Republicans. One day it will be time to pay our dues. When the people of a nation go mad, you don't get to walk away without paying dues.

I can bring myself to tears if I think about THE INSECT APOCALYPSE

Here are some of the changes that have happened just in my lifetime: Fish biomass has decreased by more than half. The number of monarch butterflies has dropped by 90 percent. Deserts have expanded on every continent. Coral reef extent has declined by half. Mangroves in Asia have declined 80 percent. The Borneo rainforest is nearly gone, and rainforests globally cover less than half their former area. And all over the world, flying insect biomass has plummeted, by as much as 80% in some places. Have you noticed that there is less bug splatter on the windshield than when you were a child? It isn’t your imagination. This should be alarming whatever the trend in global temperatures – insects are crucial to every terrestrial food web. The insect die-off means the planet is becoming less alive.

So I drive an electric car. I carry reusable bags. I'm frugal. And I vote for Democrats.

We do what we can do.
