I know this is scary, Try to imagine you are a Trump voter and

you are starting to realize you are one of the dumbest fucking idiots on the entire planet. How would you react? It is going to get a lot worse for the Trump voters.

Long ago I posted they would become infamous. They will be remembered for all time by future generations of Americans as some of the biggest fools in American history. They will have to live with that the rest of their lives.

They are going to live in denial of reality. It's really the only way their psyche can survive. If they have to admit to being so wrong about so much they can't do it because their mental wiring just won't allow it. It would be to destroy their "self."

It has been shown with Nixon voters that a substantial portion of them, years later when asked who they voted for, claim not to have voted for Nixon.

Trump will be the same. People who voted for Trump will either continue to justify it on pathetically tenuous grounds, or claim they didn't vote, or claim they voted for someone else. What will NOT happen is most of the Trump voters admitting they made a terrible mistake.

These people live in their own fantasy world of deep state conspiracies and fear of liberal boogey men and brown people. The only thing that might bring them out of their trance is personal ruin in their own lives from the policies of the politicians they elected. Even in that case they will turn on Fox News for reassurance that the negative impact in their lives is all coming from the boogey men.

exposure to "others" with get them to question their racism. I've known plenty of people who were deeply homophobic until they actually got to know a gay person. Most of the deep red parts of the country are rural areas where the population is 85% white or higher. Non-Hispanic whites now make up only 60% of the US population at large and that number is going down. As we continue to have an exodus from rural areas to the cities, because that's where the jobs are, former "bubble living" small town whites will have to live and work beside people of other colors, religions, and sexual preferences.

A guy I work with was quite vocal about voting for Trump. About two or three weeks ago, I overheard a conversation about the election in the break room and caught him telling a newer employee that he was sent out of town unexpectedly that week and wasn't able to vote at all. Give it another year and he'll be trying to convince people he voted for Clinton.

There are persistent threads like this, claiming some sort of altered terrain. I'm convinced the authors don't know anyone who supports Donald Trump. If you do have that type among family, friends, co-workers, then you know how steadfast they are. Not a fleck of doubt or regret. Some of them tune out the news at time like this and remain mostly silent. But once the topic comes up they emphasize how much they believe in Trump and his causes like the wall.

I get a big supplemental dose of this because I post on sports sites every day and I also attend several professional golf tournaments in Florida, like last week in Orlando. Those two areas are flooded with white right wingers. And they are undaunted in not only supporting Trump but doing it loudly.

I was talking to Cristie Kerr's father in Orlando while walking the spectator ropes. We were talking 100% golf and all of a sudden he brings up politics and Donald Trump. He mocked Democrats for going low while Trump goes high. That's actually what they believe. Mr. Kerr assumed he had a friendly ear since I was a white guy in my 50s attending a golf tournament.

They do not. The only time they ever really care about anything is when it affects them personally. They could care less if Trump killed a hundred million people. If it didn't effect them personally, they would justify it by saying he did it to protect America.

When Nixon resigned he still had an approval rating of somewhere around 25% even though by then the "smoking gun" tape had come out, which proved that he tried to cover up the Watergate burglary. They knew he was a crook but they liked him anyway. Strangely, though, in the ensuing years it was really, really hard to find anyone who'd 'fess up to having voted for him in '72 even though he won by a landslide. In other words, eventually they came around to acknowledging he was a crook because the whole world knew it, but avoided admitting they'd been fooled by claiming they hadn't been fooled.

I think we'll see the same phenomenon this time. To be fair to the Nixon voters, though, Nixon's duplicity and general badness wasn't as well-advertised as Trump's because Nixon didn't promote his character flaws as features rather than bugs.

It's going to be much worse for Trump voters than Nixon voters. This is much larger, this will be the biggest scandal in American history. A lot of people are going to go to prison. All of it was done out in the open and the Trump voters ignored it.

What Nixon did was hidden until the tapes came out.

It’s going to run like clockwork. Nobody will have voted for him (this will be after years of “deep state” then “Stalin tactics SC” then “but oh Hillary”).

Maybe ppl will be more skeptical & we will be less easily swayed by con men. But how do we do that? A really competent con would hide his or her bloody tracks a whole lot better.

I want laws if not amendments that require full disclosure of financial & medical condition for high federal offices, elected or confirmed. This is not going to eliminate evil but it will filter out the clowns and reduce the space the sociopaths can play in.
