Schiff: I think Stone is going to need a much better defense

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said Sunday that Roger Stone will "need a much better defense" against charges he faces in special counsel Robert Mueller's probe after he called the indictment "thin as p--- on a rock."

Schiff, who appeared on ABC's "This Week" immediately after Stone was interviewed, said that the longtime confidant of President Trump, who was indicted on seven federal counts Friday, is "presumed innocent."

"But these are very specific allegations of lies and witness intimidation," Schiff added. "They're matters that will be easily provable. These are not ambiguous statements. They're very detailed. And I think he's going to need a much better defense than the one you just heard."

Mueller's team, which is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election, charged Stone with one count of obstruction of an official proceeding, five counts of false statements and a count of witness tampering.
