It reads:

"Private prisons are morally wrong, and they're a rotten deal for American taxpayers. We should not incentivize large corporations to profit off the incarceration of millions of people in this country.

Bringing crap here without checking it is a big, big mistake.

Please don't do that. If someone posts something on FB, assume it's incorrect until you've checked it out. Most often, it will be. Facebook is not a source of factual information that can be accepted on sight. It never has been. It never will be.

Please leave it on Facebook, unless you can back it up with reliable, trustworthy links.

That's my advice. What you posted about Kamala Harris is incorrect. Completely incorrect. How is posting stuff like that useful?

Check facts; then post.

Have you looked anywhere else? Facebook was one of the #1 sources of fake news during the 2016 election. Do you think that has changed, somehow.

Anything you see on Facebook needs to be researched OFF FACEBOOK. Who is saying that stuff. Do you know who they are?

For pete's sake!

However, bringing it here without fact-checking it just keeps such nonsense going. Why do that?

That's especially true when someone just shows up in a thread and repeats some fake news crap as if it were true and real.

We had to ask that early poster where he/she had gotten that information. Facebook. Well, why not say that in the first place? Why post Facebook fake news here as though it were real?

As far as I'm concerned, anything political that is posted on Facebook is a lie, until I see it backed up from reliable sources. That's my default take on Facebook information. It's a lie. If I go look for it elsewhere and can't find corroboration, it's still a lie. Why would I take anything on Facebook at face value?

It's amazing that anyone does that any more.

. She was married on August 22, 2014, and on March 11, 2015 (eight months later) her husband sold stocks from his retirement account. Those stocks included Monsanto--and American Water, Comcast, Wells Fargo, Walt Disney Co., Nike, Hess Corp. Valero Energy, and Citicorp. Not clear from my sources, but any particular holding was less than 10K. Also not entirely clear, but it looks like her husband reinvested his retirement funds in a diversified fund rather than in particular stocks.

https://heavy.com/money/2018/05/kamala-harris-net-worth/
https://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article63707092.html

. In 2014 or 2015, her campaign received $6,800 from Baron & Budd, a law firm that was hired by Washington state for a suit AGAINST Monsanto. Doesn't seem like a good way to cosy up to a company.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/legalnewsline/2017/01/11/west-coast-super-tort-against-monsanto-could-spread-to-other-states/#5572f0ce76c3

. Just can't find anything about her alleged support for for-profit prisons. Interested if it's there. Let us know if your source has any further details.

https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2018/01/the-secret-to-understanding-kamala-harris/
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jan/19/kamala-harris-2020-election-top-cop-prosecutor

. This hit piece details contributions from the private prison industry to California Democrats and liberal PACs, but it didn't indicate any contributions to Harris. Her quotes are not entirely negative, but are not positive towards their practices. It seems like they would gleefully report any contributions to Harris--but they don't, so I'm thinking there aren't any.

http://capitolweekly.net/private-prisons-california-political-players/

. And she made other statements against private prisons during Barr's confirmation process. Though MSN decided they weren't factually accurate, they were not in support.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/factcheck/fact-check-kamala-harris-falsely-claims-that-private-prisons-make-dollar33-billion-in-profits-a-year/ar-BBSr2oc

I doubt Harris is perfect, nobody is, but I'm not seeing much to concern me (speaking personally) in these vague allegations.
