Income Inequality

I'm amazed at how far to the right our nation has tilted. I understand that American oligarchs control our M$M, control the narratives, but still....are we Americans so gullible to fall for propaganda?

I mean it was Republican president Teddy Roosevelt who talked about the dangers of a handful of people accumulating so much wealth, power, and influence. This Republican president recognized the dangers of income inequality.

I mean it was Republican president Dwight Eisenhower who imposed a 90% tax on the wealthy. Ike understood the dangers of income inequality. Ike also understood the dangers of using a disproportionate % of tax dollars on the military industrial complex.

Several years ago Thomas Picketty wrote a book about the dangers of income inequality, I was surprised that it made the news cycle as long as it did.

Ah but Citizens United, Citizens United, where corporations are treated as people unless they do something wrong. Citizens United where money=speech. The problem with that is that my money is limited so my speech is limited in relation to the very wealthy, they have super-speech.

Corporate pacs and lobbyists are stuffing our politician's pockets with cash to make sure that we don't have any more Teddy Roosevelts or Dwight Eisenhowers.

There are a few Democratic politicians who have pledged to not take money from corporate pacs or lobbyists, but those politicians are quickly attacked by the right.......and by the left. Yes we are gullible to propaganda.
