Trump Has Been Covering Up Don Jr's Crimes for Two Years: Morning Joe

Trump Has Been Covering Up Don Jr’s Crimes for Two Years: Morning Joe

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said on his show Wednesday that Donald Trump and his allies have been lying for two years to cover up Donald Trump Jr.’s crimes related to Russia.

The comments came after the “Morning Joe” panel discussed the shocking new revelation that Trump had another private meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Buenos Aires in November. Although everyone knew about his private meeting with Putin in Helsinki, the Buenos Aires meeting had not been previously disclosed. This shows that Trump’s deception about his Russia contacts is even greater than we realized.

Scarborough also pointed out that many commentators, including former MSNBC analyst Mark Halperin, had identified the president’s son Don Jr. as one of the most deeply implicated persons in the alleged election conspiracy.

Scarborough said:

“In March of 2017 I was asking Mark Halperin, quietly while all were around, this is when the whole Russia thing started to percolate, I said, ‘Who’s in trouble?’

Halperin replied, ‘Don Jr., for one.’ I said, ‘What, Don Jr., does he not have a hunting license in Idaho?’ Then he said:

“All of these contacts with Russians that Donald Trump and Don Jr. and his whole team have been lying about two years.”

On her show last night Rachel Maddow also pointed out that Roger Stone’s grand jury could be still working on more indictments, including some for the president’s son. She said:

“I feel like I would be remiss not to note that the one other person associated with the Trump campaign, besides Roger Stone, who admits to having months of communication with Wikileaks during the campaign … the only other person other than Roger Stone we know of that had months of communications with Wikileaks is … the president’s eldest son and namesake, Donald Trump, Jr..”

Yesterday Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut said that he also believes that Don Jr. is in legal peril for both lying to Congress and for his communications with WikiLeaks during the 2016 campaign.

All signs are now pointing to Donald Trump Jr. as the next likely subject of a Bob Mueller indictment, and it is very likely that he will be charged with numerous crimes before the special counsel’s investigation is concluded.

3. The presidential pardon will be trotted out to save Jr. - I'm sure of it

The other guys haven't seen diddly from Cheeto - Manafort, Cohen, Stone, etc. - because they aren't family. Donnie Jr. is family so he gets the pardon. Also true for Jared, whenever his indictment happens.

If they can nail Don Jr on state level criminal charges, Daddy can't bail him out with a pardon.
Then he has to either sing or spend the best years of his remaining life in jail.

SDNY is a federal court district. It would have to come from a state law enforcement like, maybe, the DA of NYC or NY attorney general.

for taxes, the bogus charity, etc

They can probably put together a case similar to Manafort in terms of financial crimes and tax evasion.

That can go against all the directors of Trump's organization.

They flipped Trump's CFO so finding where all the financial bodies are buried (undeclared offshore bank accounts for example) shouldn't be too tough because he oversaw the financial transactions.

8. This is why I believe there is a good chance that Mueller will not indict any 45 family members

prior to 2020 - on the hope that this country has the common sense to not re-elect the POS.

Hold off on indictments until several weeks after, god willing, Kamila/Warren or whoever we vote for takes office.

14. Robert Mueller isn't allowed to "play politics"

I don't believe that is his motive, and in any case it would violate the Hatch Act. He isn't allowed to use his office as the special investigator to help or harm any political candidate's chances. Same law applied to former FBI Director James Comey, by the way.

However I believe Mueller is concerned how the *pResident would use pardons to save his own family and himself.

That is a republican like contortion of the hatch act.

It isn't "playing politics" to recognize that the POS potus will use the pardon to keep his son and sil and himself if possible from facing justice, and either seal an indictment to be opened after January 31, 2020, or to lay out the case for indicting these scumbags in his report with the recommendation to not seek an indictment until after the oval office is turned over to a non-russian asset.
