What is wrong with some people?

Deputies: Man threw sick wife a meth-fueled 'death party' shortly before she died

SEARLES, Minn. —
A Minnesota man reportedly told authorities he gave his terminally ill wife methamphetamine and they had a "death party" shortly before she died.

The Mankato Free Press reported that Duane Arden Johnson, 58, told deputies that he did not get his wife medical help because she did not want to die in a nursing home and had begged him to take her home to die.

... snip ...

The New Ulm Medical Center told investigators that Debra Johnson had been removed from care against medical advice. She'd previously had two heart attacks, had diabetes and and had high blood pressure. She also reportedly had mental illnesses.

Duane Johnson told authorities he and Debra had a “death party” for the final days of her life. They had been “rocking out” to their favorite song: Quiet Riot's “Metal Health" while taking meth and having sex.

Duane Johnson said Debra would not let him call for help when she began having convulsions. After she died, he said he washed her and wrapped her in linen “like the Bible told me to do.”

... snip ...

Deputies say they found 47 guns at the residence, several of which were stolen.

If this was honestly what the wife wanted I don't see a problem with it. nt UniteFightBack Feb 2019 #10

"Do on to others" is something most people can agree on.

Some written by people who obviously knew them are telling a story of real love two people had for each other. It may have been non-traditional, drug fueled, crazy kinda love but truly who are we to judge how people love each other? The guy honored his wife’s last wishes.

His wife was dying, and wanted to die on her own terms. They wouldn't have been my terms, but it's not my life.

My MIL died at home. That is where she wanted to die. We took turns sitting with her for the last couple of weeks. We honored her request not to call 911, since they are obligated to preserve life -and she did not want to be kept alive artificially, did not want CPR, etc. This other woman's particular path to the end of her life would have offended my MIL's prim and proper sensibilities - but she would have united with her desire that death meet her on her own terms.

Me neither.

I would prefer marijuana and Bach, but I would absolutely prefer to have my own death tradition. At home.

And I don't want to be embalmed and boxed up either. Wrap me up and put me in the ground so that I can return something of value to the earth.

Bach by Yo-Yo and plenty of cannabis admiring my newly bought mushroom death suit. But, alas, it is not a sanctioned burial method. Hope it will be by the time my story has been completely told.
